John M. Schemm

fishServing as director of zoological operations, John Schemm has been with Ocean Embassy and Wildlife International Network, Inc. since July of 2004 and has been a major contributor in the onsite management and organization of staff and animal assets. John leads conceptual and technical development of the Company’s facility design improvements and is the author of the Ocean Embassy animal records database and management support system. He also manages investor relations for the parent company of Ocean Embassy, Wildlife International Network.

John has been working in the zoological industry for 15 years during which time he has been employed by the Baltimore Zoo in Baltimore, Maryland as well as SeaWorld and Discovery Cove in Orlando, Florida. At SeaWorld, he advanced to a Senior Trainer level and was instrumental in the design and presentation of the killer whale primary attraction. He also served as a media spokesperson and was selected to represent SeaWorld in several television productions. At Discovery Cove, he served as Assistant Supervisor and was responsible for overseeing daily operations. Responsibilities included: scheduling and supervising 24 employees and coordinating the interactions with 12 bottlenose dolphins. Mr. Schemm earned a Bachelors degree in Marine Biology from Auburn University. He is professionally trained to interact with the media and was recognized as the benchmark in show presentation in both educational and entertainment formats.
